XXVIII Biennial Symposium
Getting to the DTU Ballerup campus in Copenhagen, Denmark, for the conference is straightforward, whether you’re arriving by air, car, or public transport. Here’s your comprehensive guide to ensure a smooth journey:
By Air:
Copenhagen Airport (CPH) is the closest airport, located 31 km from DTU Ballerup campus. Upon arrival, you have several options to reach the university campus:
Taxi: Taxis are readily available outside the arrivals terminal. The ride to the campus takes approximately 25 minutes, depending on traffic. Note that taxis are expensive in Denmark.
Car Rental: Various car rental agencies operate at the airport. Renting a car could be a convenient option if you plan to explore the surroundings during your stay, but public transport and cycling are the best ways to get around Copenhagen.
By Car:
If you’re driving to Copenhagen:
Use GPS for directions to DTU Ballerup Campus.
By train:
The campus is located 15km from Copenhagen central station. You can take train lines C or H from the station and walk or take bus 350S to the university campus.
By Public Transport:
This is the most convenient way to reach the campus. You can buy a ticket through the app “Rejsebillet” – tickets are valid for 75 minutes for all means of transport. Make sure you enter the starting and ending position so that you get a ticket for the correct number of zones.
Buses: There is a direct bus line (350S) from the city centre (Nørreport station) to Ballerup campus.
Train: The C and H lines go from the city to Malmparken Station. It takes 20 minutes to walk from the station to the campus.
Walking or Cycling:
Copenhagen is one of the most bike-friendly cities in the world and you can rent a bike, which you can also take on public transport. Please note that you require a ticket supplement for this.
Tips:
Car Parking: If you’re renting a car or driving, you can park for free at Ballerup Campus, there is ample parking located just in front of the campus building.
Local Navigation Apps: Consider using local navigation apps for real-time traffic updates and directions.
Travel Time: Allow extra travel time during peak hours or if you plan to explore the area.
We look forward to welcoming you to Copenhagen and DTU for an enriching conference experience. Safe travels!
